Looking like a season, everyone. And I’m not talking about the length of the lockout.
As the owners and players finally realized that Basketball is more important than escrow, MLEs and other little details, and while there’s still a B-List with two controversial details (the age limit and drug testing) and both sides have to vote on the CBA. Don’t worry though, Stern wouldn’t agree to anything 16 owners wouldn’t agree too, and Fisher wouldn’t agree to anything that 50% of the players would protest.
While a few players certainly aren’t happy with the deal, they won’t be able to derail it. Too many guys are satisfied with just playing basketball. Sure they caved, but they had to cave.
In the end, we can collectively sing “I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it” in joy, wonderous joy.
You don’t appreciate something until you lose it, and I think I appreciate the NBA much more after all this.
I’m going to write a few predictions for the Suns later on today or tomorrow, so stay tuned and celebrate!
