Suns at Nuggets Game Preview: Alvin and the Benchmunks

You can officially skip this one.

Alvin Gentry decided to rest the vets before the third night of a back-to-back-to-back. As he said he probably would. And I have a major problem with that, because after failing in yesterdays game, he might just blow the most winnable game of the whole set.

The Nuggets are injured, very injured. Sure, they are deep, but they still lack Danilo Gallinari, Nene and Timo Mozgov, three guys that really can murder the Suns given how they are playing. That is not to say they’re not dangerous, they’re just less dangerous than before, kinda like a bunch of tamed lions (except for Kenneth Faried, who’s a manimal, apparently).

Now, with Steve, the Suns can get a hard fought win. Without him though? Oh boy. The Nuggets have a great bench, a great coach, a pretty good young point guard and their only weakness is at centre. Yay, centre! That’s where Marcin Gortat plays. Now if only someone got him the ball, the Suns might actually have shot without Nash.

Gortat will have a bigger motivation in the game as well. Remember, it was in a preseason game against Denver (in which he was rolling pretty damn well) that Rudy Fernandez broke his thumb and forced him into wearing a splint for a few very painful games. As a Pole, I can tell you, we can hold grudges. We will hold grudges. And we will act on them.

So, how will Alvin and his starting Benchmunks do?

I don’t even want to know.

Adam’s Suggestion:
If you don’t go at Kosta Koufous, you don’t deserve to coach in the NBA, Alvin
