It’s pretty safe to assume that a team that has a landslide of new players, 8 to be exact, wouldn’t have so much optimism and chemistry; especially in this given situation. That assumption does not apply to the 2012-2013 Phoenix Suns.
During the Phoenix Suns media day on Monday most players seemed highly optimistic about the upcoming season, a lot of smiles, happy faces and good vibes. I mean in a way it makes sense, nobody is going to head into a new situation with a giant frown. It’s a new start, new era, and it’s great to see all the Phoenix Suns players and coaching staff embracing a new chapter in the Suns organization.
The Suns will begin their training camp tomorrow down in San Diego and it should be a tough, intense training camp despite everyone leaving today with smiles. The Suns have a very deep team this year, no one on this team is a star level player but all 12 guys that’s going to be in the Suns rotation can definitely ball.
Personally, my favorite part of these new look Suns is that you don’t know what to expect. For the past couple years most people knew what they were going to get from the Suns heading into the season, Nash is going to be Nash and let’s hope one of our role players step up and we can sneak into the playoffs; this year is different.
Kendall Marshall still has yet to show his skills at the NBA level, exactly how much did Markieff Morris improve, can Michael Beasley live up to his potential, can Wesley Johnson’s game elevate to a new level with a change of scenery like it when he transferred schools in college, and what’s Goran Dragic going to bring to the table?
All those questions remain unanswered which is what makes this season so exciting, quite frankly I haven’t been this excited since the 2006-2007 Suns training camp. It’s great to see all the Suns players having high optimism and sprit heading into this new era of Phoenix Suns basketball.
