The Phoenix Suns (1-3) lost to the defending champion Miami Heat (3-1) on the end of their back to back on Monday night by the final score of 124-99. This was one of those games that were over before it even began.
Four minutes in to the game the Heat raced out to a 10-2 lead and never looked back. The champs had held the lead all game and were led by non-other than the king himself LeBron James who led all scorers with 23 points, and grabbed a Heat team high 11 rebounds; Dwyane Wade added 22 points and 6 assists.
The Suns struggled against Miami on both ends of the floor. On the defensive side of the ball the Suns allowed the Heat to shoot 54.7% overall, and gave up 15 3-pointers on 26 attempts; while on the offensive end, the Suns shot an abysmal 40% overall from the field, and made only 7 of 21 3-point attempts.
The Heat was very dominating on the glass out-rebounding the Suns 49-38. The only Suns player that played well on paper was Marcin Gortat who scored 12 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.
Jared Dudley’s struggles continue. Dudley scored only 8 points on the night on 3 of 9 shooting and missed both of his 3-point attempts. The Suns will close out their 3 game road trip on Wednesday night against a young Bobcats team in Charlotte.
