Suns Drop Another Game To Sacramento, Mired In Four-Game Losing Streak

Well…That was disappointing.

For the first time this season, the Suns fail to have a lead in the fourth quarter and fall to the Sacramento Kings 114-106.

Phoenix loses both parts of the home and home set with the Kings in back-to-back nights without the contribution of the injured Bledsoe and fall under .500 with a 5-6 record. The Suns are on a four-game losing streak, with all the games being decided by a combined miniscule margin of 13 points.

Goran Dragic starting out firing the first six minutes of the game, being the only Suns player to score in that span. He was aggressive going to the rim, outscoring Sacramento 11-6 in the first four and a half minutes of the game. The Dragon finished with a game-high 31 points and tallied five assists.

Gerald Green continued his tremendous shooting from behind the arc tossing up eight three-pointers and connecting on six of them. He just doesn’t seem to miss if his feet are under him and he’s in rhythm, like in those numerous catch-and-shoot touches he gets every game. Green finished with 23 points in the loss.

No one else really stepped up for Phoenix, though Marcus Morris threw in 13 points. Apparently, only one of the Morrii can have a good game at a time. Some kind of twin thing.

On Sacramento’s side of the ball it’s really all about DeMarcus Cousins. From these two games two things are obvious. Cousins is a load. He is big, even stronger than he is large. You just can’t budge him once he solidifies himself in the paint; kind of like concrete. The other is that he seems to have matured. He still scowls a bunch, but keeps his self-control. Put those two together, and the league better watch out…DMC is coming.

In this game, his stat line included 19 points (going 11-15 from the free throw line, which is uncanny for such a big guy), 12 boards, a couple assists and a steal. He could be an All-Star if the Kings’ record is good enough by February.

The points were spread pretty evenly for Sacramento, but speedy little 5-9 Isaiah Thomas came off the bench to score a team-high 23 points.

In the final minutes, Phoenix was attempting to claw their way back into the game, so they jacked up a few three-pointers… and made them, giving themselves more intensity. They continued until the final buzzer, playing with intensity, as if practicing for a critical crunch-time scenario down-the-line.

Phoenix hopes to get back in the win column Friday, as they start a three-game road trip in Charlotte to face the Bobcats.
