Who on earth is Miles Plumlee?

This is probably what many Suns fans said when they heard that the Suns and Pacers made a deal to send Luis Scola to Indy for Plumlee and Gerald Green. Plumlee played a grand total of 55 minutes for Indiana in his first season. Yet, after Marcin Gortat was traded, it fell to Plumlee to take the starting center spot. The single change of scenery turned this former  bench warmer into a successful NBA starter immediately. He is a good scorer and rebounder, and also a fine post defender, averaging nearly two blocks per game.

The one major flaw with Plumlee is his lack of offensive creativity. He relies a lot on the right hand hook shot, which opposing defenses can easily figure out. Being one-dimensional on the offensive end doesn’t work for too long in today’s NBA.

Plumlee is still young and growing, and has already clearly shown that he is a legitimate starting center in the NBA
