Oh well, my bad, the lockout is killing me.

Either way, in case I’m your only source of Suns news; Aaron Brooks signed a contract in China. Without an opt-out clause, of course.

While he may still seek the Earl Clark “family reasons” bailout if the lockout ends before his contract expires, let’s just hope Aaron stays there until the Spring, after which he becomes the second coming of Mike Bibby on the Miami Heat.

Perhaps this is a higher power answering the calls of millions of Suns fans, or just plain luck not letting Robert Sarver screw this up for us. Whatever the case, let’s hope Brooks stays there, and the Suns sign a shooting guard (looking at you, J.R. Smith, you can come back from China now) to make up for it.

Rejoice, everyone, Zabian Dowdell will finally get a chance to show what he’s made of!

Imagine if the Suns had the 23rd overall draft pick they’d given up for Aaron Brooks along with Goran Dragic. Imagine drafting Jordan Hamilton or Marshon Brooks, near perfect fits for the system ran by Alvin Gentry.

Now, wake up. See the painful reality. Robert Sarver traded an OK backup point guard along with a first round draft pick for an OK backup point guard who has been overrated due to an award that can be paraphrased as “He Sucked Less Than Last Year” in many cases.

Despite the claims that Brooks is the PG of the future for the Suns, a notion I cannot help but call out as pure and utter bull… How can a guy who can’t even run a proper pick and roll, hell, a guy who can barely pass the ball to his teammates be the heir to Nash’s throne?
