Sadness. Sadness is the only way to describe what was going on in the Madison State Garden when the Suns played the Knicks. Bad offence, pourous defence and a lot of tired legs on both sides.
The Suns pulled off a win, but more than anything, it was a testament to hitting their occasional open shots (even though Marcin Gortat had trouble with that, partially in thanks to the refs), and a surprisingly good Shannon Brown appearance. It wasn’t a win as much as it was not a loss.
The Knicks showed how non-existent their offence is without a point guard to run it.
The Suns showed nothing in particular. And yet they’ve won, and I’d like to credit Alvin Gentry for that, for once.
The rotation shuffle apparently motivated everyone from Channing Frye to Shannon Brown. Ronnie Price starting at the 2 was a nice touch, helping the defence early on. The Suns pulled off a win despite missing their most consistent (formerly) bench player in Markieff Morris.
Now, in Boston we’re probably going to see ‘kieffs first real start which will be quite interesting.
That is all about the New York game. Both teams played sad.
Oh so very sad.
