Just recently, it was discovered that Phoenix Suns’ forward Michael Beasley is currently being investigated in a sexual-assault case. Beasley has had a miserable year this past season both on and off the court. This current situation is the second time he’s had a run in with the law in 2013, and his play on the court has been awful to say the least.

During the 2012-2013 NBA season Michael Beasley recorded career lows in points, field-goal percentage and rebounds. Newly named Phoenix Suns general manager Ryan McDonough met with the Phoenix media for the first time yesterday and this is what he had to say in regards to Michael Beasley:

“Like I said, Michael has made mistakes and has some growing to do, but he is a talented young player,” said McDonough, according to Arizona Sports. “Whoever the next coach is, he and I are going to try and help him see the value of hard work and hope he learns from those mistakes.”

It doesn’t take Albert Einstein to figure out that the Suns are trying to move Michael Beasley; in fact McDonough and Lon Babby are probably working the phone-lines right now as you’re reading this.

The issue isn’t trading Beasley, the issue is finding someone who would want to take Beasley. Michael Beasley remains tremendously talented but no NBA head coach has been able to get him to play at the level he’s capable of. Earlier this season Lindsey Hunter compared Michael Beasley to a young child by saying: ”It’s just like raising kids,” Hunter told The (Phoenix)Arizona Republic. “One kid you may be able to raise your voice with, the other kid if you raise your voice, they break down and cry.”

Michael Beasley’s current contract guarantees him $9 million dollars over the next two seasons.

It looks like the one man-circus that is Michael Beasley is one that will never stop. From the Marijuana charges during his days in Minnesota to the late-night speeding without license plates in Phoenix this past season and now Michael Beasley is currently under investigation by Scottsdale Police in a sexual-assault case.

“We can confirm that our agency is investigating an allegation of sexual assault involving Mr. Beasley,” Said Scottsdale Police Officer David Pubins. “The allegation involves an incident that took place on January 13, 2013.”

“At this point we can only say the investigation is ongoing,” said Pubins. “We are interviewing those involved and processing any physical evidence we may have to try and determine if criminal charges are appropriate.”

Michael Beasley had an absolutely awful season with the Suns during the 2012-2013 campaign as he recorded career lows in scoring, field-goal percentage and rebounding.

The Phoenix Suns have yet to issue a statement in-regards to Beasley but if he’s found guilty, his days with the Suns could very well be over.
