Well as expected, Bassy is out the door. Marc Stein of ESPN.com this earlier this morning:

“Rumbles persist that Hamed Haddadi & second-rounder to Phoenix to bring Bassy Telfair to Toronto is likely outcome in final hour of deadline.”

Stein’s reports were deadly accurate. The Phoenix Suns will indeed receive Haddadi and a future second-round draft choice from Toronto in exchange for Telfair.

With Telfair now out of the picture, the back-up point guard role now fully belongs to Kendall Marshall.

Haddadi is in his fifth year in the NBA and has a career average of 2 points and 2.1 rebounds. Haddadi was mainly included in the deal mainly for salary cap reasons.

Sebastian Telfair is a great fit with the Toronto Raptors for many reasons. According to Kennedy, Telfair is close with Kyle Lowry, Alan Anderson and Rudy Gay as all of them train together every summer in Vegas. The Raptors have been on the market in search of a back-up point guard since Jose Calderon was dealt to the Detroit Pistons last month in the deal that brought Rudy Gay to Toronto.

Telfair is averaging 6 points, 2.5 assists while shooting 38% both from the field and from behind three-point line. However Telfair makes his money on the defensive side of the ball with his ball-hawking, nasty, in your face type of defense. John Lucas III is currently playing the role of back-up point guard in Toronto and Telfair will certainly be an upgrade over Lucas.

Jared Dudley tweeted this moments ago:

“RT <s>@</s>Chris_Broussard: Sebastian Telfair to Toronto For Hamed Haddadi (<s>@</s>BassyS31T is a great teammate and competitor! Good luck brother)”

With the addition of Haddadi, the Suns now have an extra center should they decide to move Jermaine O’Neal or Marcin Gortat or possibly both.

And as for Sebastian Telfair, good luck Bassy, it was a pleasure having you here in Phoenix.

The brothers unite! The Phoenix Suns are sending a future second-round draft choice to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Markieff Morris’ twin brother, Marcus Morris. Markieff was drafted 13th overall in the 2011 draft by the Suns and Marcus was taken 14th overall in the 2011 draft by the Houston Rockets.

“It’s my first trade,” Morris said. “All I kept hearing was, it’s a business. It happens. I mean, it does happen. I’m excited to see where my career can go from here.”

With the Morris twins both coming out of Kansas, there was a running joke prior to the draft that if the two brothers were separated they wouldn’t be as good given that the Morris twins has played on the same team together throughout their entire lives before coming into the NBA.

Marcus Morris was invited to Phoenix prior to the draft for evaluation purpose but the Suns ultimately went on to draft Markieff because Markieff played a definitive position where as Marcus was torn between the small-forward and power-forward positions.

With the addition of Marcus, hopefully both Marcus and Markieff will play better now that they’re together. Both guys are posting relatively similar numbers, however Marcus is shooting the ball better from both the field and from behind the three-point line. Both guys has posted very similar PERs(Player Efficiency Rating) as well, Markieff at 12.22, and Marcus at 12.3.

“We’re trying to get better,” Lindsey Hunter said. “We’re trying to build a foundation of something that we hope will last.”

Marcus Morris is averaging 8.6 points, 4.1 rebounds on the season and is shooting 38% from beyond the arc.
