So we open the fourth quarter with not one, but two pretty bogus loose-ball-foul calls against the Suns…and Rudy takes advantage with a big 3 to make it a three point game.

And Barbosa follows it up with a terrible shot attempt. Chill, Leandro.

Yeah, Webster was behind the line…but Dudley didn’t even foul him! Can’t they look at that on the replay? Oh, of course not. Webster blows the opportunity to tie it up. The Suns need to get it together right quick. The Blazers are on an 8-0 run.

I love when guys complain about an out-of-bounds call that goes against them…when the alternative is a loose-ball foul.

The Suns would do well to go back to playing some defense. Also, why is JRich on the bench? He’s been The Beast in this game, and the Suns are struggling on offense right now. Get the man back in there to put the ball in the hole!

Lots of contact being allowed…sometimes. Sometimes the touch fouls are being called. That was a really nice shove by LMA before they called the foul for…I don’t know. What did they call that foul for?

STAT hasn’t played the role of “Intimidator” much this evening. He’s mostly been a big pile of nothing. Awesome tonight? Dragic, Richardson, Hill. Dragic has been the Nash heir, Richardson has been a scoring machine, and Hill has done everything. Seriously, that guy is ridiculous. Remember when he was done for, like, 5 years?

Hearing the faint, occasional whispers of Marv Albert, Jr. and Doug Collins is almost worse than listening to everything they’re saying.

Ok, Nash just came in for Dragic. I don’t doubt Nash, but I’m just a bit skeptical of this move. He immediately shouts me down by pulling down a rebound. Bastard.

Really nice dish from STAT to JRich for the bucket. That was just good lookin’ all around.

Some really nice defense there from Nash to stay in front of Webster.

Oh, the big deep three from Nash! That was awesome…and then the nice drive and dish to STAT. He’s looking slightly less old than he was just a few minutes ago. He’s good.

Sweet block from Dudley! Wow, I’m really surprised they didn’t call a foul on Hill there. He touched Broy. I didn’t think that was allowed.

Looks like the Suns are about to close this bad boy out. That was a solid series for both sides; Portland pushed harder than I thought they would, but the Suns played better than I thought they would in their wins. Shows what I know.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a little wrap-up of the series. See y’all then!

Ok, I’m watching in a (most excellent) bar, so there’s no sound on the teevee–what in the hell was going on with that EJ/CWebb/VDub commercial? Can anybody help me out with that one?

Quick start for the Blazers, slow start for the Suns…until LMA gets himself a silly foul–followed by a STAT throwdown–followed by a Broy push to the rack and a blown layup!

That was a bad angle by TNT–it disguised just how awesome that pass was by Nash. It also completely disguised the foul. I did not see what the foul was from that angle. I shan’t complain about such things.

Lots of sloppy play from both teams so far this quarter, but a little sloppier for the Suns…especially Nash. There have been a couple of games like that in this series. As such, I submit this letter:

Dear Alvin,

Steve is phenomenally good, but he is also, unfortunately, old and tired and he sometimes plays like that. Dragic can ball. Steve, from where I’m sittin’, seems like the kind of guy who doesn’t have a big ego and if you say, “Hey Steve, take a blow. Goran’s gonna play for a while.” would just say okay and cheer his lungs out on the bench. Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s just a thought.

Love, Senor Sun-N-Gun

And the Suns go back up 14. Nice.

Nice play out of the timeout for the Blazers, but LMA can’t hit.

The Blazers have got a little schwerve goin’ on here…that was some nice defense and solid block by Aldridge.

The Blazers are gonna end up with a pretty good eFG%, as they’re shooting like crap from 2, but 63% from 3. eFG% weighs 3s as more important than 2s. Duh.

WOW. 15-3 run by the Blazers. They’re looking really strong right now…oh, and the dumb, dumb foul by Broy–but Dudley doesn’t make him pay for it. Oh, and then Broy tries to flop on the other end to make up for it, but…FAIL.

Nice close to the quarter by the Suns to chill them Portlanders out just a bit, but this is a game. This quarter should be fun to watch…see you at the finish!
